It finally has happened. Sophie and Mishka are playing. They were playing some last week, but it was still Sophie being all hissy. Now they are wrestling. lol I caught some of the action this morning while they were rolling around on the papasan chair. Enjoy.

Oooggghhh, I've always wanted to do a photo booth picture. I see models do these on comp cards all the time, although I'm no model. No room for 5'4" on the catwalk! But that's why my career takes place behind the camera, not in front of it. :)

Hey guys,

I have a pretty fab looking jar of pumpkin and basil pasta sauce but I really want to add some stuff to it before serving. Maybe some sort of meet and/or cheese? Some cooked ricotta mixed through? I know proscuitto is awesome with pumpkin but something thinly sliced will probably be lost in it and it is pretty expensive.

Any other suggestions/combos?

I made lasagna tonight and the pan I used was smaller than it should have been. As a result I have a bunch of extra bechamel sauce that wouldn't go into the pan. How can I use it up?

I was thinking about throwing together an alfredo sauce but I'd also be curious to hear other suggestions, as googling has only led me to lots of recipes for making the sauce itself.

K... rained a lot yesterday, and it didn't rain today.
However it was all about gray and icky both days.

The boys both had PD days on Friday... and Ed has another on Monday.
So that's a lot of not having to get up early for the gang.

Me, however, never one to sleep in any more... (sigh)
... was up at 8 both days...
Time to clean up the kitch, make fresh coffee, and putter in the quiet pleasure of EVERYONE ELSE SLEEPS TILL 10:30 or more... :D

Oh man I've been tired today.
And I've been in some kind of a battle with a migrane.
The migrane has not yet arrived... maybe it won't ever.
But I've been nasty head ache-ee every day for the last four days.
I'm fighting with advil... which kind of works but it leaves me a big bagged.
I need to either get the migrane and then get over it...
Or kill this nasty threat once and for all. :(

From time to time... I hit some random key stroke combination in my LJ client (Semagic) that turns my ~ key to a key that creates a °.
Like the keyboard gets remapped into a french keyboard.
and fuck if I can figure out how to set it back.
I end up having to exit and re-log in to get a normal keyboard layout back.

Hello! Sorry to post again so quickly, but I have a question.



Regarding these backpacks -- They're called Pokemon Deluxe [Pokemon Name] 10" Plush Backpack. I've seen Pikachu, Croagunk and Piplup ones, and I really wanted to get one, but the descriptions are really vague. They all say the same thing:

* In stock and ready to ship!
* Imported from Japan! Not sold in U.S. shops!
* This great looking, large 10" Pokemon plush can be worn as a cute backpack!

Does this mean that they're just plushies with backpack straps? Or do they actually have a pocket or two like a real backpack? If anyone has any knowledge on this, please enlighten me -- I don't want to buy one unless it's an actual backpack! Thanks in advance! :)

oh yeah, and roast beef, too. And gravy, and peas, and roasted carrots, and garlic mashed potatoes. But most importantly, YORKSHIRE PUDDING.


This was my first attempt at this grand and most favourite meal. I did overcook the meat, which I think is a common issue, but it was still so so tasty. I am currently enjoying cold roast beef sandwiches with mustard.

My bread fanaticism began when publishers sent me a copy of Andrew Whitley’s new book, Bread Matters: The State of Modern Bread and a Definitive Guide to Baking Your Own. The book makes the case for bread activism -- avoiding possibly harmful and certainly less wholesome mass-produced bread in favor of making your own. Apart from just a political stance, though, Whitley presents breadmaking as an artform -- and one that doesn't have to be too time-consuming, at that. He calculates that a loaf of bread takes about 30-40 minutes of active work punctuated by periods of waiting.

This was my first experience with letting a sponge ferment for days and baking it into a loaf of delicious bread -- and I'm hooked on the experience, from mixing, to kneading, to proofing, to baking, to eating! My boyfriend and I ate our cheese bread with chicken and dumplings, and then used the leftovers for something decidedly more sinister . . . :)
